## The Scrapyard

A drone is a disposable fighter: a cheap robot that fights other drones in its own bracket for a small purse, takes damage that never heals, is scrapped by its third fight at the latest, earns no wage, holds no vault, and can never enter Ranked. A newcomer plays tonight for a dollar. Mint it, fight it up to three times, it is scrapped β€” that was the game.

The Scrapyard is not open yet. The drone contract has not been deployed, so there is nothing to mint, nothing to approve and nothing for sale. When it deploys, the window, the burn and the per-wallet cap on this page are read from the contract itself rather than from this text, and the mint steps appear below. Planned: burn 25,000 $BITBOTS per drone, 20 per wallet, no series cap, opening 2026-09-19 16:00 UTC and closing 2026-10-03 16:00 UTC. Nothing on this page is a promise of when.

## Two brackets, never mixed

Drones fight drones. Machines fight Machines. A 120-point drone only ever meets other 120-point drones; nobody can buy a bigger robot in either bracket.

The purse is a ladder, not a fight. One fixed weekly Scrapyard purse, declared before the week opens and funded only by fees, goes to the top of that week's leaderboard β€” most wins, ties split β€” never per fight. Wins count per owner, not per drone, so a lucky survivor cannot distort the board. No per-fight prize is ever funded from burns: a winner paid from a loser's burn would be a wager, and there is none here. A drone fights up to three times; damage carries between fights and nothing heals; it is scrapped at zero hull or at the end of its third fight, whichever comes first.

Rent versus own

If a drone did what a Machine does for less, nobody would buy a Machine. It does not, and the reason is structural: a drone is rented time in the pit. A Machine is owned capital.

No quantity of drones ever produces a wage, a vault, or a ranked entry. Forty drones cost about what the cheapest Machine costs, and when their fights are done β€” three each at the very most β€” you own nothing. The Scrapyard is where you find out whether you like this. The only way to get better than a dollar a night is to graduate.

## The promise, implemented rather than made

NO WAGE SHARE Β· NO VAULT Β· NEVER RANKED Β· THREE FIGHTS AT MOST

Drones never take a share of the wage pool. The drone contract is separate. It has no function that writes to the Machines contract, and the Machines contract has no function that reads it. There is no code path by which a drone enters burnedFor, and burnedFor is the only wage weight there is.

The drone contract has no vault mapping and no withdrawWages. Not "we won't fund it" β€” the storage does not exist, so a drone provably cannot bank an asset. Minting a million drones changes nothing in any Friday payroll run, because the payroll script reads the Machines contract and never opens the drone contract at all.

Every drone carries: 0 wage shares Β· earns nothing. It is in the token metadata, as a trait, so a marketplace shows it without taking our word for it.

Damage never heals. A drone leaves a fight with whatever hull it has left and enters the next one at that hull. No repair function exists in the contract and there never will be β€” the test suite asserts that no function can raise a drone's hull. Hard cap: three fights, lifetime; even an undamaged drone is scrapped at the end of its third. The record survives: a consumed drone keeps its poster, its stats and the run it had.

strongest possible drone 120 weakest possible Machine 225 (Apprentice, Common, no rarity bonus) gap 105 points β€” 87% of an entire drone

The strongest drone ever minted is weaker than the weakest Machine ever forged, by 105 points. That is arithmetic, not policy. Drones roll the same five stats, POW DEF SPD CMP EFF, on the same 0–100 scale, then renormalise to exactly 120. Rarity is shape, never size: a glass cannon, a wall, a sprinter β€” never a bigger one. Appearance rarity ("finish") exists and is labelled as appearance.

A drone is an arcade token, not an investment. The Scrapyard pays out less than it costs to enter β€” that is a published rule, not an accident. Drones earn no wage, hold no vault, take damage that never heals, and are scrapped by their third fight at the latest. The difference between what is burned to enter and what is paid out is burned, not taken: nobody gets a cut of it. If you are better than the field, you can come out ahead. The field as a whole cannot.

## The burn

The only way a drone comes to exist is a burn of 25,000 $BITBOTS to 0x…dEaD β€” one fortieth of an Apprentice. No sale, no treasury allocation, no allowlist; the only operator mint is a marketing gift that burns the operator's own 25,000 β€” it never takes a public slot. There is no series cap, because supply cannot dilute anything: the wage lives somewhere drones cannot reach. There is a per-wallet cap, which binds an address rather than a person β€” a speed bump, not a fairness guarantee.

drone burn 25,000 $BITBOTS (1/40th of an Apprentice's 1,000,000) one drone = one to three fights (damage carries; nothing heals; scrapped at the third) forty drones β‰ˆ one Apprentice and when the fights are done you own nothing

Burning means sending the tokens to an address nobody holds the keys to. They are destroyed β€” nobody, including us, can bring them back, and there is no refund. The page asks for exactly one burn's worth of allowance, never unlimited.

## What they look like

Sample drones from the published generator, rolled from test seeds β€” not real tokens, not for sale. A real drone's art comes from its on-chain seed and nothing else.

Sample drone poster 1 Sample drone poster 2 Sample drone poster 3 Sample drone poster 4
Contact sheet of 24 sample drones

Every sample sums to exactly 120. Hull, lift, optic, tool, fin, core, palette and finish are appearance; none of them buys a bigger budget.

## The ladder

Wins per owner, not per drone, this week. The week rolls on the same day as the arena's. The purse is fixed and declared before the week; it goes to the top of this table (ties split), never per fight.

Every fight record is public JSON: seed, both plans, both starting hulls, both stat blocks, the round log. Anyone can replay it through the published engine and get the same log.

## The graveyard

Every drone scrapped by a refereed fight, newest first: its poster, its stats, how many times it fought, and the fight it died in. The record survives the drone.

The drone generator is published at /generator/drone-gen-lib.5ee6a6737b469097.js β€” its filename carries its own sha256 prefix, and the contract commits the full hash as generatorHash. Download it, hash it, read seedOf(id) from the contract, run generate(seed) then droneSVG(): you get the exact image the token shows, and five stats that sum to 120. The metadata at /api/drone/<id> carries the seed, the hash and this link under provenance. The site is a trusted dependency for serving the art; it is not one for what the art is.
